Sashlocks, deadlocks, night latches and rim locks, what is the difference?
All 5 lever locks from Anglefix are supplied to comply with BS:3621 insurance rating.
A sashlock, has both a keyed 5 lever deadbolt and a latch.
A deadlock, does not have a latch, but has a keyed 5 lever operated deadbolt.
A night latch is a surface fitted lock which has a cylinder on the outside of the door and a small handle on the inside. Anglefix can supply a BS:3621 insurance approved one upon request.
A rim lock is a surface fitted lock for internal doors or sheds.

Sashlock: Has a latch
and key operate deadbolt
Deadlock: Has a key operated deadbolt but no latch. Often referred to as a Chubb lock.
Deadbolt: Using a 5mm spindle used in bathrooms.
Night Latch: Referred wrongly to a Yale lock, this is popular on front doors.
Rim Locks: For use on internal doors and sheds. Also used on ledge and brace doors
Tubular latch: This has an 8mm spindle for use with handles. Anglefix supplies heavy sprung latches as standard.
